This comprehensive workshop is designed to provide learners with a practical understanding of the fundamental principles and requirements of the equal employment opportunity laws.
Areas covered may include:
The legal definition and main theories of “discrimination”;
EEO considerations in interviewing, performance appraisals, and termination procedures;
Specifics of the federal EEO laws, including Title VII, Civil Rights Act, Equal Pay Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, FMLA, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Immigration Reform and Control Act, and veterans acts;
An overview of state EEO laws, whistle blower protection laws, & the employment-at-will doctrine;
Preventing illegal workplace harassment (including sexual harassment);
Providing accommodations based on religion and to individuals with disabilities.
This workshop utilizes the following delivery format: Lecture; Q&A; Case Studies; Group Discussion; Role-Plays; and Participants Experiences.
